Soccer Game Preview: Bellevue vs. Hazen

The Bellevue Wolverines will venture away from home to square off against the Hazen Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Hazen will be up against a hot Bellevue squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Wolverines came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Juanita. That's two games straight that Bellevue have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Hazen kept a clean sheet against Sammamish on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the RedHawks. Hazen's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Bellevue pushed their record up to 6-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five contests. As for Hazen, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0-1.

Bellevue skirted past Hazen 2-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
