Palma had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Eli Dukes did his part to make it six on Friday. It took a bit of extra time, but the Chieftains secured a 42-41 win against the Salinas Cowboys in overtime thanks in part to Dukes: he rushed for 325 yards and four scores while picking up 14.1 yards per carry. Dukes really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

Palma's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Salinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Palma will take on North Salinas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Salinas, they will square off against Aptos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys are facing the Mariners at the right time seeing as the Mariners are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
