The Tampa Catholic Crusaders will square off against the Sumner Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tampa Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Tampa Catholic is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Wednesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Academy of the Holy Names.

Gianna Kontny led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Josslynn Grimsley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.

Meanwhile, Sumner lost 7-1 to Lakewood Ranch on Friday.

Sumner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Pickering, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Tampa Catholic now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Sumner, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Tampa Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Sumner when the teams last played back in February of 2025, winning 17-12. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Stingrays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
