Baseball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity fell victim to Butler County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Raiders have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Isaac Hernandez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Trinity: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Butler County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

While Trinity had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
