Baseball Recap: Beachside Takes a Loss

Beachside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the Fernandina Beach Pirates.

Beachside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Gillespie, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Gillespie a new career-high. Dalton Laroux also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Beachside's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Fernandina Beach, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Looking ahead, Beachside will be taking part in a tournament against Spruce Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fernandina Beach, they will square off against West Nassau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fernandina Beach is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
