Recap: Newport - Bellevue Knights vs. Mount Si Wildcats
The Newport - Bellevue Knights's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Mount Si. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Newport - Bellevue also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newport - Bellevue to victory, but perhaps none more so than Portia Polo, who scored 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Polo has scored at least a third of Newport - Bellevue's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Thompson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Newport - Bellevue has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Mount Si, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Newport - Bellevue is on the road again on Friday and plays the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Skyline has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 13. As for Mount Si, they will be playing at home against the Wolves at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
