The Providence Christian Academy LIONS will venture away from home to challenge the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Providence Christian Academy's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Providence Christian Academy after they put the first runs on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Middle Tennessee Christian by a score of 3-2.

Isabella Harbour was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Battle Ground Academy). Everything went their way against Middle Tennessee Christian on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Providence Christian Academy, Battle Ground Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Khloe Burton. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Burton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Cooper Corbett was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Eily Wolfe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Providence Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Battle Ground Academy, their record is now 6-7.
Battle Ground Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Providence Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Battle Ground Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Providence Christian Academy keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
Providence Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Battle Ground Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the LIONS avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
