The Christel House Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Ben Davis Giants at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Christel House put up the most runs they have all season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Indianapolis Shortridge with a sharp 30-10 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Alyssa Schultz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five runs, and five RBI while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Christel House got a massive performance out of Kiona Gomez, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Genesis Melendez was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Christel House hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Ben Davis made easy work of Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on Monday and carried off a 20-1 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Giants this season.
Like Christel House, Ben Davis also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooklynn Chambers. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Chambers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Chambers, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailee Latimer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Ben Davis and bumps their season record up to 7-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Christel House, their record is now 8-2.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Christel House hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Ben Davis struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Christel House suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Ben Davis in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
