Baseball Recap: Wyoming East Comes Up Short

If Wyoming East was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Midland Trail on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 14-6 to the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 15-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Wyoming East saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Hunt, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Gaige Cooper, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Wyoming East's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Woodrow Wilson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Wyoming East will venture away from home to face off against Bluefield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodrow Wilson, they will host Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.06 runs per game on average), something the Flying Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
