Basketball Game Preview: Brighton Cardinals vs. Millington Central Trojans

Brighton and Millington Central are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Brighton Cardinals will face off against the Millington Central Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Brighton comes in on three and Millington Central on five.

On Friday, Brighton earned a 63-51 victory over Raleigh-Egypt. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Pharaohs are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Millington Central took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-29 win over Craigmont. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Trojans just coasted through the last quarter.

Brighton better focus on containing Aiden Maclin and Andre Tyler as the pair were huge in Millington Central's win. Maclin posted 20 points, while Tyler earned 19 points. That's the most points Maclin has posted since back in February of 2024.

Millington Central pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Brighton, they have also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Brighton came out on top in a nail-biter against Millington Central in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 57-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brighton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
