It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Flatonia had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Kaufer Seahawks 12-2. Considering the Bulldogs And Lady Dogs have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Flatonia got a massive performance out of Kara Croyle, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Croyle a new career-high. Jalee Trussell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Flatonia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win was the fourth in a row for Flatonia, bringing their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Kaufer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-16.
Looking ahead, Flatonia will take on Thorndale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kaufer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
