Softball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Whitney Wildcats

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Whitney Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Davis Sr. has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Davis Sr. and Granite Bay finished up their match with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Whitney's offense. They lost 6-0 to Saint Francis last Saturday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Davis Sr.'s draw gives them a new season record of 11-8-1. As for Whitney, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Davis Sr. hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Whitney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Davis Sr. suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Whitney in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
