Basketball Recap: Hapeville Charter Comes Up Short

If Hapeville Charter was feeling good fresh off their 80-26 takedown of Utopian Academy for the Arts last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hapeville Charter Hornets took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockdale County Bulldogs on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 52-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2016.

When it comes to explaining why Hapeville Charter lost, don't look at Lyndale Roberts. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 9 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quan Morris, who posted five points.

Hapeville Charter now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Rockdale County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.

Hapeville Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Therrell at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Rockdale County and East Paulding will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rockdale County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
