Softball Recap: Preston Takes a Loss

After flying high against American Falls on Friday, Preston came back down to earth. The Indians came up short against the Sugar-Salem Diggers on Saturday, falling 19-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since March 22nd.

Preston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Averie Madsen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Madsen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Chloe Dunn was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Preston's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Sugar-Salem, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

While Preston had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
