Softball Game Preview: Bridge City Cardinals vs. Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears

Bridge City has won three straight games at home, while Little Cypress-Mauriceville has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bridge City Cardinals will host the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bridge City challenged Crosby on Tuesday. Bridge City walked away with a 9-4 win over Crosby.

Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Jasper 10-0. Considering the Bears have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Eden Frenzel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Keylie Washburn was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jasper only posted a batting average of .000.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Bridge City's victory bumped their record up to 11-7-1.
