Brady Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Oakman's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Hampton Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Skyler Driver, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Oakman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon Hill only posted an OBP of .343.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lynn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sulligent with a sharp 14-2 win on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the match before.
Cade Key made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Conner Tittle, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Coby Sherer was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
Lynn pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Oakman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
