Basketball Game Preview: Centerburg Trojans vs. Mt. Gilead Indians

The Centerburg Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Mt. Gilead Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Centerburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Mt. Gilead likes a good challenge.

On Monday, everything went Centerburg's way against Utica as Centerburg made off with a 60-39 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Gilead didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northmor on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Centerburg better keep an eye on Kendall Neal. She was instrumental in Mt. Gilead's win, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Neal has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Faith White, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Mt. Gilead was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northmor only racked up nine assists.

Centerburg's record is now 13-1. As for Mt. Gilead, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Everything came up roses for Centerburg against Mt. Gilead in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 45-7 win. In that matchup, Centerburg amassed a halftime lead of 32-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
