            Baseball Recap: Shelby Valley Wildcats vs. Lawrence County Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Shelby Valley lost against Lawrence County back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Shelby Valley Wildcats fell  13-8 to the Lawrence County Bulldogs.
 Brock Damron was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. Damron was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Lincoln Taylor and  Riley Newsome did some serious damage despite the final result:  Taylor  went 3-for-4 with one  RBI, while  Newsome  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
Shelby Valley's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 0-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Lawrence County,  the  victory  got them back to even at 1-1.
 Coming up, Shelby Valley is taking a road trip to  challenge East Carter  at 4:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Lawrence County, they will take on Blazer at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
