Division II Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances in games played from last Thursday through Saturday (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Benjamin Wilcox Drops League-Best Performance on Saturday

Starting off the list is Woonsocket's Benjamin Wilcox, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Saturday Wilcox rushed for 14 yards and two touchdowns. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.

Woonsocket is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. Their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Shea at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Peno Made His Presence Known in South Kingstown's 27-21 Loss

South Kingstown was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Dante Peno did his best to prevent it. Despite the loss, Peno was still balling out as he rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

South Kingstown moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Their road trip will continue as they head out to face East Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ariel Medina Makes It Two for Woonsocket

The second Woonsocket player making an appearance here is Ariel Medina, and for good reason. He rushed for 81 yards on only 11 carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. His longest reception was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

On the season, Medina has averaged 20.4 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 6.6 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 84.6 rushing yards.

Jordan Chaloux Makes It Two for South Kingstown

The second South Kingstown player making an appearance here is Jordan Chaloux, and for good reason. He rushed for 90 yards.

On the year, Chaloux has averaged 88.6 rushing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he was only averaging 7.4 receiving yards per game. This year he is averaging 12.8 receiving yards.

Emmanuel Arkue Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Emmanuel Arkue of Mt. Pleasant. Arkue picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Mt. Pleasant is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5. Arkue and Mt. Pleasant will take on Tolman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
