Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They came up short against the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 18-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Latham, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Latham has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

On Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's side, the team relied heavily on MACKENZIE CONDILL, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles CONDILL has posted since back in May of 2024. ANNA RAWLINS was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-1 defeat against Cumberland on the 21st. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-2 loss against Paris on the 22nd.
