Preview: Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Orlando Christian Prep Warriors
The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Trinity Christian Academy sitting on four straight victories and Orlando Christian Prep on three.
Trinity Christian Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 28-22 W over University Christian on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Anderson, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Anderson's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Darnell Rogers, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Orlando Christian Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-25 victory over Providence School on Friday.
Orlando Christian Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Anderson out in front who gained 105 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cameron Kurzon, who threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Orlando Christian Prep's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Stanley Ihekwoaba.
Trinity Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Orlando Christian Prep, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Trinity Christian Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 148 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Orlando Christian Prep struggles in that department as they've been even better at 215.2 per game.
