Baseball Game Preview: Spencerport Rangers vs. Gates Chili Spartans

The Spencerport Rangers will face off against the Gates Chili Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Spencerport is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Spencerport's offense. They fell 4-0 to Brighton on Wednesday.

Matt Green was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Spencerport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Bates, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Gates Chili also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 7-0 to Rush-Henrietta on Friday.

Spencerport's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Gates Chili, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Spencerport beat Gates Chili 4-0 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
