Preview: Chaminade Julienne Catholic Eagles vs. Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls
Chaminade Julienne Catholic has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Chaminade Julienne Catholic came up short against Archbishop Alter and fell 21-14.
Despite their defeat, Chaminade Julienne Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nydrell Wright, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, Mt. Healthy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by Waverly at home to the tune of 42-6. The result was nothing new for Mt. Healthy, who have now won six games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Healthy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jahmeir Spain, who threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 18.3 yards per attempt. Spain hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Israel Bradford also helped out as he racked up 100 receiving yards.
Archbishop Alter's win bumped their season record to 7-3 while Chaminade Julienne Catholic's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
