DeSales extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They walked away with a 38-27 victory over the Liberty Lancers. Those 38 points were actually the fewest the Irish have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Cohen Wood was his usual excellent self, rushing for 131 yards and one score on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Malachi Raymond was in the mix too, providing DeSales with two TDs.

DeSales didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Tyce Wood led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.5 points over those games.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, don't look at Drew Piersol. Despite the final result, he picked up 129 receiving yards and two scores, and also rushed for 68 yards on only five carries.

Coming up, DeSales will host Sunnyside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty, they will head out to take on Colfax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
