Basketball Game Preview: American Prep WV Eagles vs. Intermountain Christian Lions

American Prep WV hasn't had much luck against Intermountain Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The American Prep WV Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Intermountain Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

American Prep WV is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Wasatch Academy to the tune of 50-15 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Intermountain Christian came tearing into Friday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match with ease, bagging a 57-22 win over the Griffins. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 23 points or more this season.

American Prep WV better focus on containing Bella DuBois and Elaine Lunsford as the pair were huge in Intermountain Christian's win. DuBois went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points and three steals, while Lunsford posted 12 points and five boards. Lunsford is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last eight games she's played. Kendrick Lusk was another key player, going 5 for 12 to rack up 10 points.

Intermountain Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Intermountain Christian's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points over those games. As for American Prep WV, their win bumped their record up to 3-13.

American Prep WV was dealt a bruising 57-11 defeat at the hands of Intermountain Christian in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can American Prep WV avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
