Basketball Recap: Shane Sims Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Evansville North

Evansville Harrison won the last time they faced Evansville North and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Evansville Harrison Warriors walked away with a 70-61 victory over the Evansville North Huskies. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evansville Harrison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shane Sims, who went 10 of 18 en route to 26 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Sims has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooks Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Evansville North lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carson Cashmer, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seab Johnson, who posted ten points and six assists.

Evansville Harrison is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Evansville North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Evansville Harrison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-58 defeat against Vincennes Lincoln on the 31st. Evansville North has also already played their next matchup, a 59-55 loss against New Albany on the 31st.
