Football Recap: Teagan Amos-Brooks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Middleton over Newsome

Middleton had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it nine. They fell 35-26 to the Newsome Wolves. The Tigers lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 38-0 score last time.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teagan Amos-Brooks, who rushed for 65 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 18 yards and one touchdown. Amos-Brooks was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Jovaughn Dock was another key back, rushing for 126 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

As for Newsome, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6. 35 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

The critical scores for Newsome came from Trey Gaffney, Jaikim Haggans, Dax Johnsey, and Gianni Flore.

Middleton has already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Brandon on the 24th. As for Newsome, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 34-6 defeat against Plant City on the 24th.
