Basketball Game Preview: Proviso East Pirates vs. Lyons Lions

The Proviso East Pirates and the Lyons Lions will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.

Proviso East kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against Waubonsie Valley, falling 58-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since December 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Lyons strolled past Maine South with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 80-65.

Everything went Proviso East's way against Lyons in their previous meeting back in January, as Proviso East made off with a 62-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
