Basketball Recap: Basalt Comes Up Short

Basalt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 36-22 to the Steamboat Springs Sailors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Longhorns of the 40-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Basalt's record is now 2-15. As for Steamboat Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basalt won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Coal Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Steamboat Springs, they will welcome Aspen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
