It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sierra ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Central Catholic Raiders. That's two games straight that the Timberwolves have won by just one run.

Wyatt Bauer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Bauer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Bauer wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Martin, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Sierra and bumps their season record up to 3-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Central Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Sierra will have a chance to go back-to-back against Central Catholic: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
