Softball Recap: Ingleside Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ingleside had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Robinson Rockets by a score of 4-1. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five contests in a row.

Kylee Ward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ingleside secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Beth Aceves, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Aceves has posted since back in March.

Ingleside's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Robinson, the loss snapped their winning streak at 28 games and leaves them with a 35-3 record.

Ingleside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rockets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
