Softball Recap: Orange Park Takes a Loss

Orange Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-7 to the Clay Blue Devils. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Addison Toledo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Zoe Pascoe, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, Orange Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Orange Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Clay, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Park will host Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange Park has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Clay, they will welcome Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
