Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sacred Heart can now relate to. They came up short against the Simmons Blue Devils on Tuesday, falling 82-61. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Raider Williams and Luke Davey certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Williams went 12-for-29 on his way to 29 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Davey went 8-for-10 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Williams has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Even though they lost, Sacred Heart smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Sacred Heart's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Simmons, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-14.

Sacred Heart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Simmons, they have already played their next match, a 64-59 victory against Nanih Waiya on the 15th.
