Football Game Preview: New Auburn Trojans vs. Clayton Bears

New Auburn hasn't had much luck against Clayton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Bears at 12:00 p.m.

On September 11th, New Auburn didn't have quite enough to beat Alma Center Lincoln and fell 30-28. The loss was the Trojans' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Clayton entered their tilt with Prairie Farm on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 50-20 win over the Panthers. Considering the Bears have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

New Auburn better keep an eye on Dayne Mumm. He was instrumental in Clayton's win, rushing for 126 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 142 yards on only eight passes. Mumm has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Clayton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 373 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Clayton's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for New Auburn, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
