Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Millikan's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Millikan put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cerritos Dons an 11-0 shutout. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.

Millikan got a great performance from Daunte Bell as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Andrew Perez was a standout: he scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Kennard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Millikan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Millikan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Cerritos, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-10.

Millikan and Cerritos should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Rams will take on Jordan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (110 vs. 815). Meanwhile, Cerritos (ranked 326th) will meet Glenn (ranked 916th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
