Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Julie Marquez and Leah Romano Lead St. Laurence to Victory

St. Laurence lost to DePaul College Prep back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Laurence got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-27, 25-21.

Leading St. Laurence to victory were Leah Romano and Julie Marquez. Romano had 15 digs and four assists, while Marquez had nine digs. That's the most digs Marquez has posted since back in September.

St. Laurence's win bumped their record up to 24-10. As for DePaul College Prep, their loss ended an eight-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-6.

St. Laurence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Fenwick on the 23rd. As for DePaul College Prep, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Latin on the 23rd.
