Volleyball Game Preview: Beloit Trojans vs. Lyons Lions

The Beloit Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Lyons Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Beloit turned things around against Ellsworth on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Bearcats 2-1.

Beloit had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Beloit found their leader in sophomore Colbi Stroede, who had 21 assists.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lyons, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Eureka by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won three in a row.

While Lyons might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Eureka scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18.

Beloit's record is now 23-8. As for Lyons, their record now sits at 3-22-3.

Beloit was able to grind out a solid win over Lyons in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
