After a string of 20 wins dating back to last season, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 9-3 to the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings. The loss was the Ospreys' first of the season.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Conley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy fell to 3-1. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
