Football Recap: Ames Comes Up Short

Ames was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 49-14 loss at the hands of the Johnston Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Little Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Dragons are ranked 14th).

Ames' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Johnston, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ames will welcome Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnston, they will challenge Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
