Soccer Game Preview: Croatan vs. Fike

The Croatan Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Fike Golden Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Croatan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cougars who were credited with the victory. Croatan got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Richlands' two. The win was all the more spectacular given Croatan's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Richlands are ranked 50th).

On Thursday, Fike needed a bit of extra time to put away Dixon. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-3. The victory was nothing new for Fike as they're now sitting on three straight.

Croatan's win bumped their record up to 8-14-2. As for Fike, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7-3.
