Softball Recap: Knox Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Knox Central put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Barbourville. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Tigers. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three games in a row.

Blakely Castle made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Castle was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayme Swafford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Sydney Grubb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Knox Central's win bumped their record up to 11-7-1. As for Barbourville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

As of now, neither Knox Central nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
