Volleyball Game Preview: North Wilkes Vikings vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

The North Wilkes Vikings will square off against the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Wilkes is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.

On Tuesday, North Wilkes got the win against Alleghany by a conclusive 3-0.

North Wilkes walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 25-16.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes came up short against Ashe County on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost four in a row.

West Wilkes was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-10, 25-21.

West Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for North Wilkes, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

North Wilkes was able to grind out a solid victory over West Wilkes when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
