The East Meadow Jets had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Francis and snuck past 69-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Nolan Edwards, who scored 16 points along with three steals.

Even though they lost, St. Francis were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

East Meadow's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

East Meadow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Francis won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kennedy Catholic on December 29, 2023.
