Bishop Kearney can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Finney Falcons 4-3. This was payback for the Kings, who suffered a 9-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Anthony Carlisi got the start for Bishop Kearney and what a start it was: he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Athan Valentini picked up the save, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Augie Valentini was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Bishop Kearney's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Finney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Bishop Kearney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 defeat against Aquinas Institute on the 30th. As for Finney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-8 victory against Franklin on the 2nd.
