Volleyball Recap: Saginaw Takes a Loss

Saginaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Aledo Bearcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-9, 25-10.

Khiara Faber paced Saginaw's offense, picking up 14 kills. Faber got some help from Elliana Coleman and her 21 assists.

Leading Aledo to victory were Kenley Hamilton and Karsyn Evans. Hamilton had 11 digs and three aces, while Evans had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Hamilton has posted since back in August.

Saginaw's loss dropped their record down to 14-22. As for Aledo, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 35-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Saginaw is set to take on their familiar foe Chisholm Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Aledo will face off against rival Fossil Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
