Basketball Game Preview: Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers vs. Beulah Goldiggers

Des Lacs-Burlington is 1-9 against Beulah since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers will square off against the Beulah Goldiggers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Beulah is hoping to do what Trinity couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Des Lacs-Burlington's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Des Lacs-Burlington came out on top against Trinity by a score of 60-50.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beulah). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Nedrose 80-41. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Des Lacs-Burlington pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Beulah, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Des Lacs-Burlington might still be hurting after the 62-39 loss they got from Beulah in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Des Lacs-Burlington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
