Basketball Game Preview: Savannah Savages vs. Lathrop Mules

Savannah and Lathrop are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Savannah Savages will face off against the Lathrop Mules at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Savannah will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Savannah is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Penney 77-30 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Savages have posted since December 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, Lathrop entered their tilt with South Harrison on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Bulldogs.

Lathrop has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Savannah, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Savannah ended up a good deal behind Lathrop when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 47-32. Can Savannah avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
