Football Game Preview: Tolsia Rebels vs. Sherman Tide

The Tolsia Rebels will challenge the Sherman Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tolsia's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Chapmanville Regional on Friday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 41-0. Having soared to a lofty 52 points in the game before, the Rebels' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Sherman came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the Hillbillies. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Tide were the (much) better team in the second half.

Sherman's win came from a few key players Tolsia will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Eli Pauley, who threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making four total tackles, and defending one pass. Sherman's leading receiver Trey Lester was Pauley's top target yet again, picking up 154 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

One reason for the win was Sherman's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Nathan Pratt with two. Another thorn in Man's side was Dawson Green, who picked up a sack, made 22 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defended two passes.

Sherman's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tolsia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
