Baseball Recap: Desert Vista Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Desert Vista won the last time they faced Boulder Creek and things went their way on Monday too. The Thunder walked away with an 8-3 win over the Jaguars. That's two games straight that the Thunder have won by exactly five runs.

Kason Webb tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Noah Gutierrez was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Romaine, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Desert Vista is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Boulder Creek, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-19.
