Baseball Game Preview: Lake Cormorant vs. Saltillo Tigers

For the second straight game, Lake Cormorant will face off against Saltillo. Lake Cormorant is taking a road trip to challenge Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lake Cormorant has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Saltillo will arrive with 15 straight wins.

Lake Cormorant lost 10-1 to Saltillo on Tuesday.

For Saltillo's part, JORDAN EVERS spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on BAYLOR ROBERTS, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. COOPER BURLESON was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Saltillo pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Lake Cormorant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
